About This Event
Natto fans, join us for a special Natto Day Dinner of original dishes crafted by Robata Jinya chef Masaki Nakayama. A veteran of two memorable natto dinners at Zigu, Nakayama combines his love of Japan's fermented bean with everything he's learned in 25 years as a chef. The result: oishii comfort dishes featuring Hawai‘i seafood and produce delivered with natto-esque twists.
This dinner is open to the public. The only rule: You must love natto—there will be no substitutions. Ticket price includes all food, tax and tip (drinks are on you). Parking is plentiful and free at Ward Villages.

1st: Opening Shots
Shot Glass of Chilled Cauliflower Soup with lobster, bisque sauce, crunchy natto
Shot Glass of Fresh Ika Somen in ponzu with hikiwari natto and daikon oroshi
2nd: Mentaiko Natto Dashimaki Tamago—bathed in natto dashi with natto-shiso drizzle
3rd: Mochi Natto in Fried Aburaage Purse, oden broth, daikon, A5 wagyu suji
4th: Natto Corn Tempura—natto and local corn in a tempura-style fishcake; Hawaiian chile aioli accompanies
5th: Natto Poke Oshizushi—honmaguro bluefin tuna, king salmon, Kona kampachi, Kaua‘i shrimp in natto-shoyu sauce on natto sushi rice
6th: Summertime Natto Mazemen—chilled ramen noodles topped with natto, takuan, cucumber and kim chee; mix into Jinya Ramen Bar tonkotsu sauce and eat
7th: Natto Sundae of vanilla ice cream, fried Okinawan sweet potato, natto honey, pesto, sesame
